Starry Configurations
A sweeping rain washes across a flatland and dries out over a field of buildings. They rise out of the earth like needles from a pincushion. Brittle and fragmented, they fear the high winds. Occasionally, a scattering of them will fall. they snap at the base and tilt lightly. Monoliths fall as cuttings at harvest time. There will be no gatherings, however, for there is no longer anyone to care.
